Getting started with Typhon: install and launch your first game

Bring installed games into one library or add your own release source. You can start without an account.

1. Install the launcher

Choose your system on the download page. Windows requires Windows 10 version 1809 or later, x64, and Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. Mac requires macOS 13 or later and Apple Silicon; Windows games need CrossOver installed separately.

Run the Windows installer, or extract the Mac ZIP and move the application to Applications. SHA-256 verification and first-launch instructions are next to the download links.

2. Add games already on your disk

Use disk scanning in Typhon to discover installed games. Review the results in Installed: check each game’s name, folder and executable.

Open a game page and try launching it. If a helper EXE was selected, choose the main game executable. Adding a game to the library does not install components required by the game itself.

Installed games are collected in one place.

3. Add a source for downloads

Open Sources → Add source and enter the address of a compatible feed. Check the preview before saving. Typhon does not include preset sources or game files.

Use sources you trust and are entitled to use. Sources shows refresh status and errors. If releases do not appear, check the source status first.

4. Download and install a game

Choose a game and a release from your source, then select Download. You can enable Install after download in the download dialog. Follow progress in Downloads.

If automatic installation is off, wait for the download to finish and select Install. Downloading and installing are separate stages: verification, unpacking and installer prompts can still follow the download. Leave space for both the downloaded files and the installed game.

5. Launch and check the result

Open the game in Installed and launch it. If Typhon offers several executables, select the game client rather than an editor, server or uninstaller.

After exiting, check that the game is still in your library. You can sign in later for friends and library and settings sync; this does not automatically transfer all game files or saves.
