Copyright Infringement Notices

Revision of 11 October 2026

This document explains how to send the Typhon project operator a copyright infringement notice, and what can and cannot be done in response to one.

Typhon is developed and maintained by an independent developer (the "Typhon project operator").

This is a translation of the Russian original. In case of any discrepancy, the Russian text prevails.

1. Contact

Send copyright infringement notices to:

abuse@typhon-launcher.com

This is the only address for such notices. Messages sent through other channels may go unread.

2. What to understand before sending a notice

Typhon is a program that runs on the user's device. The operator neither hosts nor supplies game files, does not maintain a catalog of sources, and does not distribute the contents of third-party sources.

That leads to the following distinction, which determines what can be done about a notice at all.

2.1. Typhon infrastructure and services

This covers what the operator controls: the project website, the repository, the account service, the metadata service and the update service — the texts, images and other materials they serve. It also covers what users upload and write themselves: profile avatars and covers, the bio and other profile fields, captions on feed events, game reviews, messages between friends and support requests.

For a notice concerning such material, review and removal — or restriction of access to the material — are possible.

2.2. Sources added by the user

Release sources are added by the user; their contents live on third-party servers and on the user's device. The operator does not store these materials, keeps no register of them and has no access to them.

It is technically impossible to remove materials from a user's device or from someone else's server in response to a notice sent to the Typhon operator. Such notices should be sent to the owner of the resource in question or to its hosting provider.

2.3. The BitTorrent network

A swarm on the BitTorrent network exists independently of the app and of the operator. It cannot be taken down from there by any means available to Typhon, and the operator makes no such promise.

3. What to include in a notice

So that a notice can be reviewed, please state:

  1. Identification of the material — which work you believe is being used without permission, and on what basis you represent the rightsholder.
  2. Location of the material — the exact address of the page, file or record in a Typhon service, on the website or in the repository. Without a specific location a notice cannot be reviewed.
  3. Contact details of the complainant — name or organization name, and an email address for the reply.
  4. Statement of good faith — a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are acting as the rightsholder or on their behalf.

4. Review and response

A notice that contains everything listed in section 3 and concerns material in the Typhon infrastructure is acted on within the timeframes set by Article 56 of the Law of Ukraine "On Copyright and Related Rights": access to the material is disabled no later than 24 hours after the notice is received, and a reply on the measures taken is sent to the complainant at the contact given no later than 48 hours after receipt. Notices that do not meet section 3 are reviewed within a reasonable time, with a request for the missing information.

Where the material was uploaded by a user — that is, where it concerns an avatar, profile cover, bio, status or profile block texts, event caption, review or message — that user may be notified and is entitled to submit a counter-statement. The notice and the counter-statement are considered on their merits; material removed in error may be restored.

Notices that do not identify the material and its location, and notices about material outside the Typhon infrastructure, are rejected with an explanation of the reason.
